Shiroishi River Hitome Senbonzakura (Ogawara / Shibata)

Location Shiroishi River Embankment, Ogawara / Shibata, Miyagi
Features One of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan." About 1,200 cherry trees stretch for 8km along the Shiroishi River. The view of the blossoms and the clear river set against the snow-capped Zao Mountains is truly a masterpiece, living up to its name "Hitome Senbonzakura" (A thousand trees at a single glance).

Tsutsujigaoka Park (Sendai)

Location 1-chome Gorin, Miyagino-ku, Sendai, Miyagi
Features This historic site began when Date Tsunamura, the 4th lord of the Sendai Clan, brought weeping cherry trees from Kyoto. About 350 trees bloom here, with the weeping cherries being exceptionally beautiful. Located within walking distance of Sendai Station, it is a bustling urban oasis for flower viewing.

Nishi Park (Sendai)

Location Sakuragaoka-koen, Aoba-ku, Sendai, Miyagi
Features One of the oldest parks in Sendai City, located along the Hirose River. About 200 cherry trees bloom here. It is famous for its lively atmosphere with lanterns and food stalls. The combination of the blossoms and the preserved steam locomotive (C60 class) is also a popular sight.

Funaoka Castle Ruin Park (Shibata)

Location 95-1 Tateyama, Funaoka, Shibata, Miyagi
Features A mountain castle site selected as one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan." A 305-meter slope car takes visitors through a tunnel of cherry blossoms to the summit, which offers the best vantage point to look down upon the "Hitome Senbonzakura" along the Shiroishi River.

Ogawara Park (Ogawara)

Location Ooya, Ogawara, Miyagi
Features Located on the Shiroishi Riverbed, this park serves as a base for strolling through the "Hitome Senbonzakura." It has plenty of space for visitors to spread out picnic mats. During the season, many food stalls line the area to welcome tourists.

Shiogama Shrine (Shiogama)

Location 1-1 Ichimonoyama, Shiogama, Miyagi
Features The precinct is decorated with 300 trees of 40 varieties, including the "Shiogama-zakura," a National Natural Monument. This unique variety is a beautiful double-petaled cherry. Combined with the prestigious shrine buildings, it offers a refined atmosphere and is known as one of Miyagi's top "power spots."

Mikamine Park (Sendai)

Location 1-chome Mikamine, Taihaku-ku, Sendai, Miyagi
Features This park boasts one of the highest numbers of cherry trees in Sendai City. With about 500 trees ranging from early to late-blooming varieties, the viewing season here is longer than elsewhere. The vast lawn areas provide a great sense of openness for visitors.

Matsushima (Matsushima)

Location Matsushima, Miyagi
Features One of the "Three Most Scenic Spots of Japan." From Saigyo-modoshi-no-matsu Park, you can look out over the islands of Matsushima Bay through about 260 cherry blossoms. The harmony of the blue sea, the green islands, and the pink blossoms is like a beautiful painting come to life.

Wakuya Castle Ruins (Wakuya)

Location 1 Shitamachi, Wakuya, Miyagi
Features The former residence of the Wakuya-Date clan. About 500 Yoshino and weeping cherry trees bloom from the Eai River embankment into the park. The reconstructed corner turret (Wakuya History Museum) and cherry blossoms are highly photogenic, and the night illumination is also popular.

Shichigahama Central Park (Shichigahama)

Location 5-9 Noyama, Yoshidahama, Shichigahama, Miyagi
Features Located on a hill overlooking the sea, this spot allows you to enjoy cherry blossoms while feeling the sea breeze. It is a community hub with sports facilities where blossoms decorate the spacious grounds. On sunny days, the pink flowers contrast beautifully with the blue of the sea and sky.
