Matsukawa Park (Toyama City)

Location Honmaru, Toyama City, Toyama
Features Selected as one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan." Around 460 Yoshino cherry trees line the Matsukawa River, which once served as the outer moat of Toyama Castle, stretching for 2.8 km. Taking a sightseeing boat cruise allows you to pass through an atmospheric "cherry blossom tunnel" from the water. It is a symbol of spring in central Toyama.

Takaoka Kojo Park (Takaoka)

Location 1-1 Kojo, Takaoka, Toyama
Features Selected as one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan," this is the site of Takaoka Castle, built by Maeda Toshinaga, the second lord of the Kaga Domain. Water moats occupy about one-third of the park's area, and the reflection of approximately 1,800 trees in the water is stunning. It is one of the Hokuriku region's finest castle parks for flower viewing.

Funagawa Embankment (Asahi Town "Spring Quartet")

Location Funagawashin, Asahi-machi, Shimoniikawa District, Toyama
Features Nationally famous for the "Spring Quartet"—a rare phenomenon where the snow-capped Northern Alps (Mt. Asahi and Mt. Shirouma), cherry blossoms, rapeseed flowers, and tulips can all be seen at once. About 280 Yoshino trees line both banks of the Funagawa River for 600m, offering a colorful panoramic view unique to Toyama.

Features An observation spot offering panoramic views of Toyama City and the Tateyama Mountain Range. At night, it becomes a romantic destination where you can enjoy the city lights and illuminated sakura simultaneously.

Kurikara Prefectural Park (Oyabe)

Location Border of Oyabe City, Toyama and Tsubata Town, Ishikawa
Features Located around Kurikara Pass, famous as an ancient battlefield of the Genpei War. About 6,000 double-flowered cherry trees (Yaezakura) reach their peak in late April, after the Yoshino trees have fallen. The area around the "Fire-Ox" monument is particularly beautiful, offering a historic walking path.
