Takato Castle Park (Ina City)

Location Higashi-takato, Takato-machi, Ina City, Nagano
Features Known as the "Best Cherry Blossoms under Heaven," this is one of Japan's premier sakura destinations. It features approximately 1,500 "Takato-kohigan-zakura" trees, a unique species found only here. They are smaller and redder than the typical Yoshino variety, creating a breathtaking sight as the entire park is enveloped in a delicate pink cloud.

Matsumoto Castle (Matsumoto)

Location 4-1 Marunouchi, Matsumoto City, Nagano

The "Triple Beauty" of the jet-black castle walls, the white blossoms, and the snow-capped Northern Alps in the background is a noble landscape unique to Matsumoto.

Ueda Castle Park (Ueda)

Location Ninomaru, Ueda City, Nagano
Features Built by Sanada Masayuki, this famous fortress twice repelled the Tokugawa army. About 1,000 cherry trees fill the grounds. The blossoms surrounding the turret gates evoke the historic romance of the Sanada clan. During the "Ueda Castle Thousand Sakura Festival," the trees along the moats are beautifully illuminated, reflecting on the water.

Komoro Castle Ruins Kaikoen (Komoro)

Location 311 Tei, Komoro City, Nagano
Features One of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan." It is a rare "pit castle" (Anajiro) located at a lower elevation than its surrounding castle town. The mossy stone walls combined with weeping cherry trees and the local "Komoro Yae-beni-shidare" variety create a poetic spring scene beloved by the poet Shimazaki Toson.

Garyu Park (Suzaka)

Location 1635 Suzaka, Suzaka City, Nagano
Features A celebrated spot in Suzaka selected as one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan." Around 160 trees line the Ryuga-ike Pond, with 600 across the entire park. The "Inverted Sakura" reflected on the pond's surface is a masterpiece. Locals often enjoy strolling here while eating the famous "Kuro Oden" (black oden).

Mt. Hikarujo (Azumino)

Location Toyoshina Hikaru, Azumino City, Nagano
Features Approximately 1,500 Yoshino trees line the hiking trail. In spring, the blossoms open progressively from the foot to the summit, resembling a "Rising Dragon." From the top, a dynamic panorama unfolds featuring the blossoms against the rural Azumino landscape and the majestic Northern Alps.

Iida Castle Ruins / Sakuramaru (Iida)

Location Edo-machi, Iida City, Nagano
Features Iida City is famous for its numerous "lone cherry trees" (Ippon-zakura). Highlights include the "Meoto-zakura" (Couple Sakura) at the former castle's Sakuramaru site. Visitors can enjoy a historic spring by touring various famous ancient trees found at local temples and traditional residences throughout the city.

Suwa Takashima Castle (Suwa)

Location 1-20 Takashima, Suwa City, Nagano
Features Once known as the "Floating Castle of Suwa" because it protruded into Lake Suwa. The main enclosure is now a park with about 90 Yoshino and weeping cherry trees. The reconstructed tower and the branches extending over the moat create a compact yet highly photogenic destination.

Nogura Meoto-zakura (Ueda)

Features Located near the Bessho Onsen area (the "Kamakura of Shinshu"), these two Edohigan trees stand nestled together in a rural landscape.
