Matsue Castle (Sanyin Chuo Park)

Location 1-5 Tonomachi, Matsue City, Shimane
Features One of only 12 original surviving castle keeps in Japan and selected as one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan." About 440 trees, including Yoshino and Yaezakura, decorate the grounds. The contrast between the dignified black-walled keep and the pale pink blossoms is breathtaking. Hiikawa River Embankment

During the blooming season, the "Kisuki Festival" is held, creating a scene symbolic of spring in Shimane, bustling with food stalls and visitors.

Mitoya Riverbanks
